Centrally located for visiting Longwood Gardens, Kennett Square, and enjoying numerous fine restaurants. Front desk and hotel staff were so pleasant and helpful. The lobby, with fireplace was beautifully decorated for Christmas. My room had the BEST handicapped bathroom I've ever encountered. The roll-in shower also had a folding seat in it, multiple safety bars, was huge and especially well lighted. Room 107 was located on the first floor (up an accessible ramp) close to the front desk.

This is a wonderful hotel in a beautiful location — truly a local gem. It’s very close to Longwood Gardens and conveniently next door to several great restaurants. The décor is charming and well-maintained, and the pride of ownership really shows throughout the property. We would absolutely stay here again. The room itself was lovely, the service was excellent, and the included breakfast was a great touch. The only concern we had was that our room was located next to an ice machine in an open hallway area. It made very loud crushing noises throughout the night, which repeatedly woke us up. Everything else about our stay was excellent, but this was disruptive. Overall, this is a great place to stay when visiting the area — just be mindful of room location if you’re a light sleeper.

Such a pleasant surprise we had.looking forward to an overnight stay location so we could visit Longwood Gardens and experience their Christmas lights program. This hotel is close, easy to get in and out of, and is right next to (a brief walk down their driveway) to a high quality Italian restaurant. The check in system works very smoothly, the rooms seem to be all different, both very comfortable.(We were with 2 other couples, each in a unique and comfortable room). Breakfast was continental style, but well stocked, and they were always on top of inventory, including coffee, to ensure everyone could get enough. If you’re thinking of going to Longwood, or to Kennet Square for everything mushroom, I would recommend this hotel for your accommodation.

The continental breakfast was very nice and also convenient. The main lobby was beautifully decorated for the holiday. Thank you for a comfortable stay.

We needed a place to stay in the big snowstorm that had generator power. We had stayed at the Brandywine River Hotel a few years back and they fit the bill in more ways than one. JP the manager couldn't have been kinder and more helpful to us during our stay. He looked after us like family. We will recommend this hotel to anyone considering staying in the area. The prices are reasonable and it has everything you need. Thank you JP and the Brandywine River Hotel!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Brandywine River Hotel – A Cozy Fall Getaway My host, Adam, was attentive to every request and made my birthday celebration a true success with his thoughtful attention to detail. The welcome was warm and perfectly reflected the cozy charm of the Brandywine Valley, especially surrounded by the beautiful fall colors. Our room was clean and comfortable, with the gas fireplace and hot tub being absolute highlights — the perfect way to unwind during a midweek getaway. The photos truly don’t do justice to the natural ambiance and serene beauty of this location. Breakfast was a lovely touch and a beautiful way to segue back to reality after such a peaceful stay. Thank you for a wonderful experience. I would definitely recommend the Brandywine River Hotel and look forward to returning. Cheers! ~ Candace

We were looking for a place to stay overnight after visiting Longwood Gardens. This hotel was located in a great area and was reasonably priced. We wanted to stay somewhere a bit more unique than a chain hotel and are happy that we stumbled across the Brandywine River Hotel. Staff were friendly upon check-in. They had free cookies, which we couldn't eat due to dietary restrictions, but they looked good! A nice breakfast was included and the lobby was warm and festive. We enjoyed the cozy, unique atmosphere!

We stayed at the Brandywine River Hotel so that we could attend a family event. There were 20+ people in our party and we all had great rooms, plenty of parking, nearby eating and museums, and plenty of space outside our rooms that we could gather - though I suspect they may have preferred we socialized outside of the hotel a little more. The hotel offers a lovely breakfast in the morning and the lobby is the perfect place to meet your party before heading out for the day or evening. The fireplace made the lobby very cozy. The staff was excellent - particularly the night time manager who was very kind to us and when asked if we got too loud, he confirmed that fact but in the best way possible - suggesting a conference room we could utilize. We would not hesitate to return to the Brandywine River Hotel for future events. My husband and I are even thinking it would be a fun weekend couple retreat given the restaurants and museums in the immediate area. We look forward to that return
